Monash Medical Centre is a 640-bed teaching and research hospital of international standing, providing a comprehensive range of specialist surgical, medical, allied health and mental health services to our community.
The ICU is a 26-bed adult unit - specialist services include cardiothoracic, renal, neurosciences, obstetrics, surgical and general ICU.
Monash Medical Centre is a Tier 3 (Initiation site) in the Victorian ECMO Service (VECMOS). ECMO is currently managed as an Intensivist led service, supported by perfusion services. Development is underway to establish a nurse led ECMO model, launching early 2022.
