Mum of twins saved at the RMH

It is difficult to believe that she was recently one of the Royal Melbourne Hospital's (RMH) most critical patients, surviving on life support.

On May 2, Alex, her husband Tim, and their families experienced a day of profound highs and lows.

After joyfully welcoming their identical twin daughters, Esther and Violet, via Caesarean section at Frances Perry House, Alex was rushed just hours later across an interconnecting bridge to the RMH’s ICU.

The mother of three had a severe post-birth reaction, causing her heart to struggle to pump effectively.
